Payment Options

Choose the Payment Path That Fits Your Project
Huggins Publishers offers two payment pathways for accepted Professional Publishing projects. The author selects the preferred option before signing the publishing agreement.
Payment is requested only after the manuscript has been assessed, accepted and assigned a written publishing package.

Option 1: Upfront Instalments
The standard package price is paid in three stages:
• 50% when the publishing agreement is signed
• 25% after the author approves the edited manuscript
• 25% before publication
After publication, the standard royalty allocation is:
• 80% to the author
• 20% to Huggins Publishers
Royalties are calculated from Net Publishing Receipts, as defined in the publishing agreement.

Option 2: FlexPay
FlexPay allows an accepted author to begin with a smaller initial payment.
The author pays 25% of the package price when the agreement is signed. The remaining 75% is deferred. A 15% premium applies only to the deferred portion.
After publication, the author’s earned royalties are applied to the disclosed recoverable balance until it has been repaid.
During the recovery period, the royalty allocation is:
• 70% to the author, applied toward the recoverable balance
• 30% to Huggins Publishers
After the recoverable balance has been fully repaid, the royalty arrangement stated in the author’s publishing agreement takes effect.

Transparent FlexPay Reporting

• The opening recoverable balance
• Book sales recorded during the reporting period
• Net Publishing Receipts
• Royalties earned
• The amount applied to the recoverable balance
• The remaining balance
When the balance reaches zero, Huggins Publishers confirms the completion of the recovery period in writing.

Important Conditions
• FlexPay is available only for approved projects.
• The final payment and royalty terms appear in the signed author agreement.
• Publication schedules depend on the author meeting all approval and payment obligations.
• Royalties cannot be guaranteed because book sales cannot be guaranteed.
• Authors may pay the outstanding recoverable balance early, subject to the agreement.
