Manuscript Submission Guidelines

Submit Your Work with Confidence

Huggins Publishers welcomes original manuscripts from new, emerging and established authors. These guidelines will help you prepare a clear, complete and professional submission for our assessment.

What We Publish?

We consider manuscripts in a range of categories, including:

• Christian and inspirational books
• Academic and theological works
• Memoirs, biographies and autobiographies
• Leadership and personal-development books
• Children’s and young-adult books
• Poetry and selected works of fiction
• Educational and culturally significant publications

  • Mental Health

Every submission is evaluated according to its quality, purpose, intended audience and alignment with the publishing vision of Huggins Publishers.

Before You Submit

Please ensure that your manuscript:

• Is substantially complete before submission
• Has been carefully reviewed for missing sections
• Contains your full name and contact information
• Includes a working title and, where applicable, a subtitle
• Is presented as one clearly labelled document
• Contains page numbers
• Identifies any material created by another person
• Does not unlawfully reproduce copyrighted material

Do not send your only copy. Keep a secure backup of every file submitted.

Accepted File Formats

Our preferred manuscript format is Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx). A PDF may also be included for reference when the manuscript contains special formatting, tables, images or other design elements.

Please do not submit photographs of manuscript pages or files that cannot be opened, copied or professionally edited.

Recommended Manuscript Formatting

Unless your project requires specialized formatting, please use:

• A readable 11- or 12-point font
• Double or 1.5-line spacing
• Standard margins
• Left-aligned paragraphs
• Clearly identified chapter titles and headings
• Page breaks between chapters
• Consistent spelling and punctuation

You do not need to design the final book before submitting it. Professional interior formatting is completed during production when included in the agreed publishing service.

What to Include with Your Submission

Please include:

• The complete manuscript
• A short synopsis or summary
• A brief author biography
• The intended audience
• The book’s genre or category
• The approximate word count
• Your preferred publication format, if known
• Details of any previously published edition
• Information about images, quotations or third-party material
• Any important publication goals or proposed timeline

Images and Illustrations

Images should be submitted as separate, clearly named files whenever possible. For professional printing, final images may need to be high-resolution, generally 300 dpi at the intended print size.

Authors are responsible for identifying the source of each image and obtaining any necessary written permission for its use. Do not submit images taken from websites or social media unless you own them or have permission to publish them.

Copyright, Quotations and Permissions

Your manuscript must be your original work or contain material you are legally authorized to use.

Please identify:

• Extended quotations
• Song lyrics
• Poems written by others
• Photographs and illustrations
• Tables, maps or charts from other sources
• Previously published material
• Contributions made by co-authors or other writers

Permission requirements will be reviewed before publication. The author remains responsible for the accuracy of ownership and permission information provided.

Artificial Intelligence and Assisted Writing

If artificial-intelligence tools were used substantially to generate, rewrite, translate or illustrate any part of the book, please disclose this when submitting the manuscript.

Authors remain responsible for the manuscript’s originality, accuracy, citations, permissions and compliance with applicable laws. AI-assisted material must be carefully reviewed and must not infringe another person’s copyright, privacy or other rights.

Academic and Research Manuscripts

Academic manuscripts should use a consistent citation style and include complete references or a bibliography. Authors are responsible for checking quotations, citations, names, dates and factual claims.

Any research involving confidential, personal or protected information must comply with applicable ethical and legal requirements.

Our Assessment Process

After receiving your submission, Huggins Publishers may review:

• The manuscript’s completeness and readability
• Editorial and proofreading needs
• The intended audience and market positioning
• Interior-design and cover requirements
• Image quality and permission needs
• Printing and distribution suitability
• The most appropriate publishing pathway

Submission does not guarantee acceptance or publication. If the manuscript is suitable, we will provide a written publishing offer explaining the proposed services, responsibilities, costs, royalties and next steps.

Do Not Send Payment with Your Manuscript

No payment is required merely for submitting a manuscript for initial consideration. If your project is accepted, any applicable fees and payment arrangements will be stated clearly in the written publishing offer or agreement.

Author Responsibility

Before publication, the author is responsible for reviewing and approving edited text, interior proofs, cover proofs and publication information. Approval should be given only after all requested corrections have been checked carefully.
